Bringing Back The
Most interesting man
When Dos Equis reintroduced The Most Interesting Man In The World alongside Fuerza Regida, the challenge wasn't simply making him younger. It was recreating the iconic version of the character audiences had come to know over years of campaigns. The goal was to faithfully bring that version of the character back to the screen; preserving his recognizable appearance while allowing the performances and footage to remain seemingly untouched.

Recreating an icon across shots
Our role was to recreate that version of The Most Interesting Man through AI-assisted de-aging, full head replacement, and traditional compositing while preserving the original performances.
Some shots required subtle de-aging to match his appearance from earlier Dos Equis campaigns. Others required complete identity replacement, seamlessly transferring his likeness onto another actor while preserving every nuance of the photographed performance. Rather than relying on a single AI process, each sequence was approached independently, combining AI with established VFX techniques to build the right solution for every shot while maintaining a consistent character across the campaign.
03 / TECHNICAL WORKFLOW
AI inside a traditional vFX pipeline
We built an extensive reference library from years of Dos Equis campaigns, focusing on the actor's appearance around 2012 across a wide range of lighting conditions, expressions, and camera angles. Those references informed every hero frame, which was established through a combination of traditional paint work in Nuke and AI generation.
Once approved, shot-specific CopyCat models were trained to preserve that look throughout each sequence, while Smart Vectors and SwitchLight X provided high-quality temporal continuity between frames. Traditional tracking, compositing, and cleanup ensured every result remained grounded in the original footage plates.
